The HT105 is an update to the popular HT103 extendable pole saw.  When the HT103 replaced the HT101, Stihl added a more robust pole, moved from 3/8p to 1/4 pitch chain and moved the bar from the right side of the gear box to the left.

The new HT105 has maintained the 1/4 pitch chain and robust pole, but has moved the bar back to the right side due to customer feedback.  They have also beefed up the gearbox for added durability.  Stihl made another nice change on the HT105 by adding a stand under the engine.  This helps keep the engine out of the leaves, dirt and mud when setting it down on the ground.
